{"id":4,"date":"2007-07-17T18:43:03","date_gmt":"2007-07-18T01:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.sikhsangeet.com\/spiritbornpeople\/2007\/07\/17\/painde-khan\/"},"modified":"2007-07-17T18:45:09","modified_gmt":"2007-07-18T01:45:09","slug":"painde-khan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.sikhsangeet.com\/spiritbornpeople\/2007\/07\/17\/painde-khan\/","title":{"rendered":"Painde Khan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0We see the very pang seeking to cool itself in a stream of burning lead, the disciples baring their breasts to bullets, to swords, and to bayonets. \u00a0No snow can cool it down, nor can rivers wash it away. \u00a0Death in His Name offers the cup of sweet companionship with Him through an intense ecstasy. \u00a0Painde Khan, the beloved sikh of Guru Har Gobind, tuurns a rebel, a traitor. \u00a0He comes to fight with the Master. \u00a0The Master allows the disciple the chance of giving him the first blow. \u00a0But Painde Khan fails. \u00a0he cannot give Him the cut of the combat. \u00a0The Master&#8217;s sword then wounds the disciple deep. \u00a0Painde Khan falls from his horse. \u00a0the sun is burning overhead, the sands are hot below. \u00a0The Master lifts up his disciple, puts his head in His lap and shades the forgetful Painde Khan by His large shield. \u00a0And the Master asks him, &#8220;Painde Khan, Thou art dying. \u00a0Say thy <em>Kalma<\/em>\u00a0now&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Painde\u00a0Khan,\u00a0the\u00a0disciple,\u00a0wakes\u00a0up\u00a0and\u00a0says\u00a0with\u00a0his\u00a0tremling\u00a0lips,\u00a0&#8220;My\u00a0<em>Kalma<\/em>\u00a0is Thy sword-cut, O Beloved !
